The First Lutheran Church community celebrates the resounding success of its 2024 "Welcome the Babe" campaign, raising over $3,000 to support mothers and newborns worldwide. Spearheaded by Joann Masters and assisted by a dedicated team of volunteers, the initiative culminated in the assembly of 31 baby kits on December 29.
Each kit, thoughtfully prepared with essential newborn supplies, will be distributed through Lutheran World Relief to support new mothers facing challenging circumstances. The kits include vital items such as blankets, clothing, and hygiene products, offering comfort and care to families in need.
The baby kits were blessed during the Epiphany worship service on January 5, symbolizing the congregation's prayers and compassion accompanying each gift as it travels to its recipient.
“Once again, our church family rose to the occasion in order to bring aid and comfort to so many needy children and parents throughout the world.," said Joann Masters. This project truly embodies the spirit of hope and love during this season.
