Dr. Lindquist will give a presentation about new ways of understanding memory functions. Our memory skills evolve over time. What memories are available to us is a matter of survival; we remember what we need to remember depending upon where we are in life and what is happening to us. We prioritize memory in order to navigate. When we can't remember the name of that person we met at that thing, it is likely that our brain is switching to walk carefully and avoid falling down. This is not a loss of memory; it is forgetting in the service of a brain function that is more important; walking upright. Come to this talk and learn what we know that offers comfort for the fear, Help! I'm losing my memory. Please click on this link to RSVP, meal or no meal, by Monday, November 4th.
